Billy's Birthday Weekend (05-25-01) For his Birthday, Billy, Colin and their parent spent the weekend at Universal Studios and Disney World in Florida courtesy of Nickelodeon. I hope that they had a great time and that Billy was able to wash all that cake and slime off. :) |

Peace Officers Memorial (05-15-01) On Tuesday, May 15th, Billy was in Washington DC to take part in the 20th Annual Peace Officers' Memorial Service. An annual event that pays tribute to fallen police offers and acknowledges their sacrifice in the line of duty. In attendance to pay tribute to 150 officers who made the supreme sacrifice in 2000 were President George W. Bush and approximately 10,000 police officers, families, and friends of law enforcement. Billy honored the fallen officers by singing "One Voice" |

Mother's Day (05-13-01) Billy can't say enough about how much he appreciates his mother, he just has a little problem showing her how much. He confesses, quote, "I usually get her flowers and candy for Mother's Day. The only problem I have is that I usually end up eating all the candy before I give it to her!" |

ACM Awards (05-09-01) Fantastic performance of She's My Girl!! GOOD WORK BILLY!!! I'm... I'm really in shock over this. Sadly Billy did not win any of the three awards he was nominated for. Billy really deserved the Best New Male Vocalist Award. Well, the TNN/CW Awards are only a month away, I'm sure he'll win at least one of them. |

Dare To Dream Album Premiere
We have entered the final week before the release of Billy's Dare To Dream album, and with each day more and more is happening. On Friday May 4th we start off with the Dare To Dream Album Showcase. Billy will sing 2 previously released songs and FIVE from the new album. This will be on GAC and broadcast on the internet at http://countrystars.liveonthenet.com at 8:00 PM ET. Internet broadcast repeats May 8th at 8:00 PM ET. GAC repeats May 8th 10:00 PM, May 9th 10:00 AM, May 10th 7:00 PM, May 11th 2:00 AM, May 12th 9:00 AM Then on Monday, May 7th Billy will be on the outdoor stage at Universal Studios Hollywood's CityWalk to preform songs from his new album at a fan party that will also be broadcast nationally on Radio. On Dare To Dream Day (Tuesday, May 8th) you'd think Billy would already be busy enough with the album release and co-hosting the Sizzlin' Country Benefit Concert that night. But AOL users will be able to take part in a Listening Party starting at 6:00 PM ET and Chat at 7:00 PM ET. Wednesday, May 9th brings the second big event of the week with the Academy Of Country Music Awards. One year ago Billy blew the audience away when he sang Roly Poly with Asleep At The Wheel. This year he's up for THREE awards and will perform his newest single "She's My Girl" It's going to be one busy week for Billy! |

The Twang - update (04-18-01) The IMAX Movie "The Twang", which was originally planned to open in Nashville during Fan Fair, will be delayed due to a finnacial. Billy appears in the movie in a scene filmed at the Ryman Auditorium with more then 20 other country artists. |

OH, THAT Billy Gilman (04-05-01) Executives for Junior Scholastic Magazine say they were surprised when they discovered that the Student Advisory Board application form a 12 year-old Billy Gilman of Rhode Island turned out to be THE Billy Gilman. Billy's spokesperson says he took it upon himself to write a brief essay on why he'd make a good student adviser for the magazine. Billy, and nine other kids from around the US were chosen to serve on the student panel. Billy says that being home-schooled he finds Junior Scholastic very valuable. And that his input could be helpful because he travels a lot and meets kids from all over the US. |

One Voice, One Day (04-03-01) KSON in San Diego is asking radio stations nationwide to join together and play "One Voice" at noon on April 5 (the one-month anniversary of of the Santana High shootings) to gain attention to the epidemic of school violence. |

Special project CD (04-02-01) Billy will taking part in a compilation album of country artists performing their favorite Raffi songs. Raffi's royalties from the album will be donated to the non-profit organization The Children's Environmental Health Network. Artists participating in the album due out this fall include Billy, Asleep At The Wheel, The Wilkinsons, keith urban, Raul Malo, Kathy Mattea, LeeRoy Parnell and Marty Stuart. |
