Billy News Archive| Billy picks Leading Lady for video shoot - Thursday, March 31, 2005 After weeks of narrowing down the people who applied to be Billy Gilman's leading lady in his upcoming video "Everything And More", as of March 25th and 26th almost a 1000 contestants were cut down to 200. From those 200, they were dropped down to 8 after personal interviews in which Billy was totally involved. Meeting and talking with each girl himself, he found he made a fast connection with the winner, Christine Perkins, a 17 year old from New London CT. The video shoot is being held this weekend in Westerly, Rhode Island. |
| Heartsongs Gala Event - Saturday, March 26, 2005 A celebrity-filled event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association and honor Reznick Group Chairman David Reznick with the 2005 Heartsongs Award. It happens on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005, 6 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton, 22nd and M streets, Washington, D.C. Several diplomats confirmed to attend include ambassadors from Turkey, Italy, France, Morocco, Jordan and Great Britain's Counselor for Global Issues. Top-name performers include world- renowned swing and big band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy; five-time Oscar- and Grammy-award winning recording artist Christopher Cross; and country sensation Billy Gilman. The Heartsongs Award annually recognizes one individual for long-standing support of MDA's research efforts to find treatments and cures for devastating neuromuscular diseases. The event is a tribute to 13-year-old Mattie J.T. Stepanek, best- selling poet and peacemaker who died in June from a rare form of muscular dystrophy. His mother Jeni will be a keynote speaker at the Gala. |
