Billy News Archive| Equals 29 Tour Scores High - Tuesday, June 26, 2001 A Fargo, ND radio station reported it's impressions of Billy and Jessica's tour when it played Tuesday evening at the Red River Valley fair in West Fargo. In the format that calls for each artist to trade off opening for the other, Jessica Andrews opened this show. Jessica's performance also stood out for her "great vocals." Billy "blew the doors off" with his performance showing "great stage presence on and off the stage." Overall "this was a crowd-pleasing show" that drew several thousand fans made up of a remarkably diverse cross section of fans of all ages. Missing was the talked about duet capper for the show. But the radio station was told that part of the show is still being worked on to find just the right songs for these two teens to sing. |

Here's what he had to say about it: "Never in a million years would I have imagined winning an award like this," Billy said backstage. "It's just overwhelming. The first thing that I said, and I truly mean it, is I thank the fans. It's all about the fans and that's what counts." | Billy talks about singing for the President - Saturday, June 9, 2001 Sunday night Billy will performing at "An American Celebration at Ford's Theatre" which will be attended by President and First Lady Bush, and is being taped by ABC for later broadcast. When asked by launch if performing for the President made him nervious, Billy said "Oh, oh my gosh, yes, because that’s the biggest thing of your life. I mean, you get to sing in front of the President of the United States. He can veto a war, or he can pocket veto something else -- I’ve learned all this in government class.
