Third duet to help children (09-27-00)

As his third duet, Billy has recorded "Santa.Com Aka I'm Gonna E-Mail Santa" with Rosie O'Donnell for her upcoming CD "Another Rosie Christmas." All the artists proceeds form the sale of this CD will go to The For All Kids Foundation (forallkids.com) to help support intellectual, social and cultural development of at-risk and underserved children across the country. "One Voice" tops Disney's list (09-27-00)

On Saturday, September 23, 2000, Billy's "One Voice" video topped the Disney Channel's viewer voted video list. Videos are aired at various times through the week and the kids are asked to vote for the favorite. Disney has also committed to giving "Oklahoma" some airplay.

At this years CMA's Billy will announce the Broadcast Award winners AND will sing his debut hit "One Voice."

"Oklahoma" (09-24-00) [updated 09-30-00]

Billy's second single will be released on October 3rd.
NOTE: The release date seems to have been pushed back to the 10th.
You will be hearing "Oklahoma" on the radio starting October 9th.
CMT will air the video on Delivery Room this Wednesday, September 27th.
GAC will air the video on Thursday, September 28th between 9:30 - 10:00
CMT Canada will air the video on Screen Room, Monday October 2nd, 7:00 PM ET

Billy to sing national anthem (09-22-00)

While in Charlotte, NC on the weekend of October 7th, Billy will sing the national anthem at one of the NASCAR races that will be held at Lowes Motor Speedway. Both the Bush (Saturday) and Winston Cup (Sunday) races will be broadcast on TBS starting at 1:05 PM. Also note that when a country music star sings the national anthem they usually join the announcers in the booth for a short "talk" during the first half of the race.

YoungStar Awards (09-22-00)

Radio Disney will host a special broadcast from "The Hollywood Reporter's Fifth Annual YoungStar Awards" and the "invitation-only supper celebration" that will follow the awards. Billy, who is one of the nominees for "Best Young Recording Artist or Musical Group" is scheduled to perform during the awards.

TNN Country Weekly Music Awards (09-22-00)

Tickets for the 2001 awards show go on sale Saturday, September 23, 2000.
Billy is sure to receive a few nominations and wins from the annual fan-voted awards show which will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2001 in Nashville and aired live on TNN. Mail order forms are available from Country.com

"Hi Europe, I'm Billy!" (09-17-00)
Billy returned to Europe today for an 8 day introduction and promotional tour for the upcoming European release of "One Voice"

"The Twang" (09-17-00)
The report earlier this week that Billy has had to pull out of the movie may not be correct. The latest information says that Billy will be one of more than 25 Country singers who will appear in one of the final scenes in the movie singing "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Billboard Music Video Awards Nomination (09-15-00)
Billy's "One Voice" video has earned him Best New Artist nominations in Country, Jazz/Adult Contemporary, and Contemporary Christian fields and Best Video in the Contemporary Christian at the Billboard Music Video Awards, which will be held on November 10 in California.

"The Twang" (09-15-00)
A report today indicates that Billy has had to cancel his plans to be take on a small role in this IMAX film due to scheduling conflicts.

"Oklahoma" (09-15-00)
Billy second single will be released on October 3rd.
The second song on the CD will be "Warm & Fuzzy" from Billy's Christmas album.
Sony has said they are putting the finishing touches on the "Oklahoma" Video.

"Classic Christmas" (09-15-00)
Billy's "Classic Christmas" is scheduled to be released on October 17, 2000
As a preview, the B-side of Oklahoma will include the Christmas song "Warm & Fuzzy"

Reba hears the "One Voice" of Billy (09-14-00)
After seeing Billy sing at two award shows, Reba McEntire was so impressed that she has invited Billy to be her only opening act for 12 shows this October and November. Dates will be added to the Appearances page as they become known.

Billy Gilman Day Postponed (09-14-00)
Billy's hometown of Hope Valley was in the process of planning a "Billy Gilman Day" for next month, however, the invitation by Reba to open for her has caused it to be postponed until sometime next spring. Among the items that had been planned were a Fire Prevention Parade in which Billy would ride on a Fire Truck. Billy was looking forward to the event and didn't want to disappoint his hometown fans but is excited to be given the opportunity to tour with Reba - a major milestone in his career. There was talk of flying Billy in for the event, but both the organizers and his management agreed that it would be to much for the young superstar.

"Oklahoma" expected in October (09-14-00)
Current reports say that Sony expects to release Billy's second single, "Oklahoma," sometime in October.

Billy is pure Platinum!! (09-12-00)
Award

Twelve weeks to the day of it's release, Billy's "One Voice" album has received a Platinum certification from the RIAA signifying ONE MILLION albums sold. With this amazing and exciting news, Billy also has become the youngest solo artist EVER in the history of music to be certified Platinum.

"The Twang" (09-11-00)
Sony has confirmed that Billy is set to play a small role in the IMAX movie "The Twang." Production is expected to be completed in February 2001.

"One Voice" takes on POP Charts (09-10-00)
Billy's "One Voice" is about to crossover to the POP Charts. New York's influential Z-100 radio station recently started playing the smash hit and currently lists it at #36 on their "Hit List"

Billy on "7th Heaven" (09-09-00) [correction 09-11-00]
After having met with Aaron Spelling, Billy is scheduled to appear in an episode of "7th Heaven." Reports indicate that WB has been running promo's for "7th Heaven" that show clips from previous episodes accompanied by "One Voice"

"Dream a Dream" video (09-08-00)
The duet Billy and Charlotte did for Charlotte's upcoming Christmas album will soon have an accompanying video. The "Dream a Dream" video will reportedly feature Billy and Charlotte on top of the Sony building and at the end they will walk off into the clouds together.

"Oklahoma" hits the airwaves!! (09-13-00)
Billy's new video for the song "Oklahoma" will start airing on CMT September 13th.

Billy and Charlotte's Duet! (09-02-00) [update 09-06-00]
The last few days have produced a number of reports regarding the duet that Billy and Charlotte Church recorded while Billy was in England over the Labor Day weekend. Officially the only announcement about the duets has come from Billy's web site, however, by putting together all the available information it appears that they recorded two songs, one for each album. "Dream a Dream" will be the title track of Charlotte's upcoming Christmas album (09/30/00). The second song is "Sleigh Ride" and it will appear on Billy's "Classic Christmas" (10/17/00)

"One Voice" The Most Requested (09-03-00)
Billy's "One Voice" video was #1 on the CMT Top 100 Requests, which features viewers 100 favorite videos of all time.

Billy in a Movie!! (09-02-00)
Billy MIGHT play a part in a movie titled The Twang, which is about a boy in Ireland who goes to a magic castle and travels back to the time of a country music legend.

Billy and Charlotte's Duet! (09-02-00)
Billy went to England on Friday (Sept 1st) to record his duet with Charlotte Church.

Billy's first recorded duet (08-31-00) [updated 09-02-00]
