New Appearances This weeks charts This week's updates to The UNofficial Billy Gilman Fan Web Site Billy Gilman WebRing This week's new highlights: --------------------------- + CMT Canada's Top 100 Cross Canada Countdown + On the Labor Day weekend CMT counted down the Top 100 Requested Videos. Billy beat out Country music's biggest stars like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and the Dixie Chicks to nail the number one spot. On this Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend, CMT Canada is counting down Canada's Top 100 Requested videos. Billy's "One Voice" video was #5. + Another Rosie Christmas + Rosie O'Donnell will be joined by Billy and 13 other top name artists for "Another Rosie Christmas." Rosie's second Christmas CD is a follow up to 1999's "A Rosie Christmas" which was certified platinum within a month of it's November release. Billy and Rosie will sing "Santa.com aka I'm Gonna E-Mail Santa." In the spirit of Christmas giving, Billy, Rosie and the 13 other artists are giving of their time and donating their proceeds from the CD to Rosie's For All Kids Foundation. (For more on the CD and the foundation see the CDs and News pages on my site) + Speaking of Rosie... + I have found out that Billy is scheduled to appear on Rosie's show on December 13, 2000. + Billy gets a standing ovation + In case you didn't see Wednesday night's CMA Awards, and haven't heard yet, Billy sang an extremely abbreviated version of "One Voice" before announcing the Broadcast Award winners. Even though it was abbreviated Billy went out and nailed every note perfectly, resulting in applause while he was singing and his SECOND standing ovation from Country Music's toughest critics, the artists themselves. The look on Billy's face as he saw his music industry peers on their feet, was one of those priceless moments of pure happiness and shock. + Major updates to BillyGilman.com + If you aren't a regular visitor to Billy's Official site then you may not be aware that it has undergone some changes this week. Included in these changes is a new page of picture from Billy's trips to the UK. As well as clips from Billy's Classic Christmas. + Classic Christmas release dates + As everyone know's Billy's Classic Christmas will be released on October 17th. However that is only in the US, those in Canada will have to wait an extra week for it to be released on October 24th. What's Billy doing this week? ----------------------------- Billy has a very busy week ahead of him as he started his tour with Reba in Charlotte, NC on Saturday. The next stop on the tour will be in Minneapolis, MN on Tuesday. Then Grand Rapids, MI on Thursday, Champagne, IL on Friday and Madison, Wisconsin next Saturday. New Appearances ------------------- Providence Civic Center Billy will be on Rosie in December There is a full page article about Billy in the Oct. 17th issue of Country Weekly magazine. This week's charts -------------------- Due to two "HotShot Debut's" on the Billboard Country Albums chart Billy was pushed down two spots and lands at #7 for his 15th week. The Singles sales chart information wasn't available when I sent the newsletter out last weekend, it finally showed up at the beginning of the week and "One Voice" had climbed back to #2. The singles sale chart information that I get only lists the top 3 and this week "One Voice" has fallen out of the top 3. This week on Canadian Country Albums Soundscan (sales) charts Billy did increase a bit but there were a couple of new releases in the top 10, resulting in Billy loosing one spot over last week and coming in at 13th. Although not officially released to the Radio stations yet, "Oklahoma" has made it's debut at number 66 on the Billboard "Hot Country Singles & Tracks" (radio airplay) chart. This week's updates to The UNofficial Billy Gilman Fan Web Site --------------------------------------------------------------- - 4 pictures from the CMA's - Pages for "Another Rosie Christmas" - Updates to be done this weekend: * Max has rescanned all his magazine articles * updated appearances. Billy Gilman WebRing ------------------------ First Thank you to Max for pointing out that I screwed up when I set up my pages for the web ring. As far as the webring goes however, as some of you may know, WebRing.org was recently taken over by Yahoo. Personally I don't like the way the new Yahoo WebRing is set up, and there are some problems with it. Because of this I have decided to move the ring to another ring system. The first part of the set up for the new ring has been done and I'm working on the final items which should be done Monday or Tuesday. If you are member of the ring already you will receive an e-mail with the information you need to change over to the new one when everything is finished. If you wish to join the new ring check my webring page in a couple days for the information you need.
