I'm sending this out a few hours early this week. What that means is that you are getting this before the weekly site updates, instead of after like normal. Part of the reason for this is because of the minor changes that are being made to the site (see below for more), since these will take a bit of work I wanted to make sure you had this today. Billy TV This weeks charts New Appearances *** New Discussion List *** *** Changes at TUBGFWS *** Vote for Billy's video's Reviews Welcome This week's updates to The UNofficial Billy Gilman Fan Web Site This week's new highlights: --------------------------- + Hottest Selling + With both "One Voice" and "Classic Christmas" in the top 10 of Billboard's Country Albums chart Billy was the biggest selling country artist last week. + Rumor Mill + In an interview after his performance during the half-time show on Thanksgiving Billy hinted that a tour is being considered for next year. The tour could also include Jessica Andrews and The Clark Family Experience. + Fan Fair 2001 + Although not until June, Billy has already been confirmed as being one of the artists that will be at Fan Fair 2001. What's Billy doing this week? ----------------------------- Last week Billy was at Disney World in Orlando, FL for the taping of Disney's Christmas Eve Special "Twas the Night Before Christmas." While there Billy took part in the MGM Parade then headed for the rides. This week Billy will be in New York for an appearance on Today Show. Billy will also be chatting with AOL on Tuesday, December 5th at 7:30 PM ET. This appears to only be available to AOL members, and to those AOL members I would like to ask if they could send me a transcript of it afterwards, thanks. Billy TV For December 4th to 10th -------------------- It's December and it's getting very busy for TV appearances, so warm up those VCR's and if you need tapes you better get out and get them right away. First, in regards to the Billboard Music Awards that are being held and aired on Tuesday night. The answer is I don't know. Most information is that this will be a live broadcast of the awards that are taking place in Las Vegas that night. Since Billy has the AOL Chat that night, and the Today Show the next morning I don't think he will be there. Other information has indicated that the Billboard Video Awards will be aired, and we know that Billy was not at the awards but when he found out he won all 4 he did go in and thank everyone. (speaking of which, Billy's official site now has a picture of Billy holding his 4 awards) Since I don't know what is actually being aired, all I can do is suggest that you tape it. So moving on to Billy's TV appearances this week. PBS - PBS stations are airing a program this month called "Charlotte Church: Dream a Dream" I don't know what it is, but if this is the video I've been told about Billy is shown recording the song with Charlotte. Check your local listings. Monday - CMT Canada has once again said they "should" have "Warm & Fuzzy" on their Screening Room program, 7:00 & 11:30 PM ET Tuesday - CMT (USA) will re-air Yulenanza at 5:00 & 10:30 PM ET Tuesday - MAJOR ALERT!!!! - TNN airs "Billy Gilman's Classic Christmas" at 8:00 PM ET. This is Billy's first TV special and includes guests Ray Benson, Charlotte Church, Jessica Andrews and Michael W. Smith. (I also have TNN's Scrapbook of this in the gallery) Wednesday - Billy will be performing on The Today Show, NBC at 7-10 AM ET. Friday - CMT Canada will be airing the Face the Music episode that has Billy as one of the featured artists, 10:00 PM ET. Also note that on Monday, December 11th Billy is scheduled to sing at The Christmas Pageant of Peace which is suppose to be broadcast on C-Span and HGTV. This week's charts -------------------- A bit of a "break even" week for Billy. On Billboard's Country Albums Chart "One Voice" slips one spot to #5, while "Classic Christmas" holds at #6. On Billboard's Top 200 Albums "One Voice" moves up 5 spots to #48, while "Classic Christmas" slips one to #59. On Billboard's Country Radio Airplay charts "Oklahoma" is #44 and "Warm & Fuzzy" debuts at #64 On the Canadian Country Albums Soundscan chart "One Voice" slips one to #9, and "Classic Christmas" moves up four to #11. New Appearances ------------------- No new appearances were added this week. *** New Discussion List *** ------------------- The UNofficial Billy Gilman Fan Web Site is happy to announce that we have been given ownership of the Billy_Gilman list at eGroups. It is my hope that by making it part of TUBGFWS that the membership and activity level will increase and that we can make it the best list on the internet to discuss Billy. Starting this weekend ByteHosting will become the site's primary host, and Geocities will be the back-up/mirror host. Those of you have visited the two new galleries this week will have no doubt noticed how much faster and better these new galleries worked compared to the old ones. That is because the new galleries are already on the new host. Starting later today the main sections of the site will be moved over to ByteHosting and over the next few weeks the gallery will be moved as improvements are made to each of the pages, I will start with the newest pages and work backwards to the oldest. This move should also allow for other improvements and additions to the site in the future.
