Billy's "Classic Christmas"
by Max (Max's Boy Star Galleries)
Contrary to what anyone may tell you, I did *not* camp out in the parking
lot at Target to get my Billy Gilman "Classic Christmas" CD - honest! :o)
The CD is brilliant. Billy's crystal-clear voice shines through on all the
tracks. From classic Christmas ditties like "Jingle Bell Rock" and his duet
with Charlotte Church on "Sleigh Ride", to the solemn hymns "Angels We Have
Heard On High" and "O Holy Night", young Billy gives us a Christmas treat
that we can add to our collection of holiday music. There's no question
that Billy hits the high notes with room to spare on this wonderful CD
recorded back in July.
Among the 14 tracks are two *new* Christmas Classics. "Warm and Fuzzy" is,
well, warm and fuzzy! "There's A New Kid In Town", is a beautiful, gentle,
and heartwarming song with a taste of Country and beautiful harmonies, the
"new kid" being the Christ child.
The CD also includes some beautiful pictures of Billy along with "Billy's
Fun Facts" and a list of Billy's "Favorites". Some of the info is on
Billy's website and on BillyGilmanFan's UNofficial Fan Site, some info is
new, at least to me. For instance, did you know Billy's favorite sports
teams are the Tennessee Titans and the Boston Bruins? (glad to see the kid
is a hockey fan!)
Whether or not you are a Billy Gilman fan I suggest that this CD would be a
welcomed addition to anyone's Christmas music library. It's sweet, joyful,
well-produced, and everything that a Christmas album ought to be.
Merry Christmas! (oops, maybe a little early for that yet!)
