Billy's Minneapolis MN appearance on Oct 10, 2000
by Dave G
I was very excited to hear that Billy was coming to my home town of
Minneapolis to open for Reba McEntire, especially since I had driven 3000
miles round trip to see him in Fall River in August ( it was worth every
mile). The ticket price of $60 was kind of high (I suppose some of that
was for Reba :-) but I would have happily paid that and more just to see
Billy. Billy's performance was terrific again, only it seems too short.
He flawlessly performed most of the songs from "ONE VOICE" and also did
Roly Poly. Although most of the audience was there for Reba, it was
obvious that he had won them over, as I think his loudest applause was
when between songs he said "Wow, this is Awesome, how about I come back
next week", I wish he really could. The only disapointment is that he
doesn't do "There's A Hero". It is one of the best on his CD and is so
inspiring, it would make a great closing song for his show. This amazing
12 year old boy has captured my heart, and if you like his CD you will
absolutely fall in love if you see a live performance.
